Sapri Sale
Indonesian specialist in Middle Eastern
cultures. He currently works as Hebrew, English and Arabic teacher, before as supporting staff and executive office associate to the Permanent Representative of Belgium to the United Nations in New York.
Early 1980, Mr. Sale learned Islamic Law and Arabic Grammar in Traditional Islamic School (Pesantren) Malang, East Java. In 1989, he went to study Arabic literature at Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt. There, he also started learning Hebrew at the Israeli Cultural Center and spend sometime at several Arab Countries. In 1996, he worked for the office of Indonesian Ambassador in Beirut to establish Indonesia Embassy in Lebanon. He voluntarily taught Arabic to Indonesian Diplomatic Corps. In 1999, he moved to New York and started working for diplomatic representations to the U.N., first for Indonesian military adviser at Permanent Representative of Indonesia to the UN, then for Permanent Representative of Kingdom of Belgium.

Mr. Sale has been working since 2017 with the Indonesian Conference on Religion and Peace (ICRP) as a Coordinator of Education and Research Development. Indonesian Conference on Religion and Peace (ICRP) is a nonprofit, nonsectarian, non- governmental and independent organization dedicated to advancing and promoting interfaith dialogues, democracy and peace in Indonesia. It was established by religious leaders from various religions and faiths in Indonesia. ICRP efforts to promote the dialogues for developing religious life which is democratic, humanistic and pluralistic.
