Service Description

The Chassidich movement was started by the Baal Shem Tov (Rabbi Israel ben Elizer 1698-1760). The Baal Shem Tov taught how to connect to the divine through prayers and happiness. He taught that happiness and singing during prayers produce a spiritual pleasure that lifts one’s spirit. He also emphasized that a simple physical act dedicated to God can get a person very close to his Creator. Through prayer, a person can also reach a close contact with the divine. To him, every event in the Torah is positive regardless of the perception of it. Chassidut is based on the Kabbalah and it brings down to a level that we can understand, if we make the effort to study it diligently.
